Three carabinieri died due to a large explosion during an operation to clear a farmhouse in Castel d’Azzano, in the province of Verona. According to initial reconstructions, the three brothers who lived in the farmhouse had the attic saturated with gas to make it explode, because they did not want to abandon the house. Two of the brothers, a man and a woman, were arrested, while a third is wanted, who left immediately after the explosion. 11 carabinieri were also injured in the explosion, hospitalized under code red but not in danger of life, and 4 policemen.
