Vinitaly 2025, our tastings: the rosés

Third episode of our journey to Vinitaly which ended a few days ago through our most interesting tastings. After the episodes dedicated to bubbles and whites here is the one dedicated to the best rosé wines.

The transfers of Rosa Bardolino Chiaretto Dop

Let’s start with this Venetian reality, managed by just over forty years from Matilde Poggi. We are in the Bardolino area, among the most suitable in Italy for pink wines. We taste and remain very impressed by this Bardolino Chiaretto by Corvina grapes (90 percent) and Rondinella (10 percent) from grapes produced in vineyards of 24 years to 190 meters above sea level and subjected to extraction of the rosé flower must from 25 percent of it. The wine refines for about a year in concrete tanks on its fine fucce. The wine is of an elegant soft pink color that over time turn on the copper, the nose is of fresh and candied fruit, therefore of saffron, the fresh, notes, clean and very balanced mouth.

Tenuta de Melis Bardasce Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC

Let’s move to Abruzzo now, another land of large rosées, with two labels. The first is in the heart of the Pennesi hills, in the Pescara, where the De Melis family for 120 years has taken care of that territory. This wine is based on Montepulciano di Abruzzo subjected to soft pressing and aging in steel. The color is a very intense cerasuolo, the nose obviously recalls the cherry, particularly clear and clear, the mouth is savory, fresh and very drinker.

Nicodemi le watches cerasuolo d’abruzzo biological doc

The two brothers Elena and Alessandro Nicodemi found themselves catapulted to deal with the family farm after a city life. They took their task very seriously and became a point of reference for the territory of the Teramo hills (Alessandro is also the current president of the Abruzzo Vini Consortium). The Le Murate 2024 is a shining cerasuolo, with a Renaissance red color (by the way, the consortium is working to define the intensity of the color to be included in the disciplinary), from the nose of red fruits and pomegranate, with a wise, fresh and balanced mouth.

Pasini San Giovanni Letter C Valtènesi Doc

Already elected rosé of the year in the Italian Gambero Rosso Gambero Vini Guide, this wine represents the most used interpretation of the Valtènesi area by this enlightened producer. It is a 100 percent Gropello Gentile produced by adult vineyards and refined in small Clayver ceramic barrels. Letter C is a reference to the Chiaretto to whom a message is sent. The wine is of an ancient rose, the nose develops in balance between citrus and spices and in the mouth it behaves as a champion, with minerality, elegance and great composure.

Cantina di Venosa Incomosa Merlot Rosato Basilicata PGI

Social cellar of the reference point of the entire territory of Vulture, represents about 350 members who administer about 800 hectares. This rosé belongs to the top line and is a grape -pure Merlot from about twenty years around 400 meters above sea level.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The color is a very brilliant onion rose rose, the nose bears floral aromas and small red fruits, the mouth is savory, tense, enveloping. A product with a remarkable quality/price ratio.
