When an average European looks at the USA, he makes the banal mistake of believing that it is a nation made entirely of skyscrapers, luxury, innovation, modernity.
Well, a significant portion of the USA is based on one class worker who lives in areas ruralgets his hands dirty in the steel mills of rust belt or in the inland oil wells. People who are certainly less educated than Californians, probably without any PhD (and therefore considered inferior by the learned) but who are part of the backbone of the most powerful country in the world.
People who don’t give much credence to Hollywood events or star endorsements. People who have priorities the basic economy to lead a dignified life and who doesn’t have time in life to metabolize that it is right to greet with a “meow” the colleague who identifies himself as a cat. People who see a distant war as a useless risk in which not to get bogged down and not a mission into which to rush.
Is it right, is it wrong?
We are not the Americans, quoting Vasco Rossi. It’s not for us to say.
Donald Trumpwith its great defects, was able to be transversal: to please the proletarians, to please the migrants, to please high finance.
