There are more and more reports online of a bug that is making two Beta versions of WhatsApp totally unusable: according to what was reported by the testers, when a green screen appears full screen, any kind of command becomes unusable, without any possibility for the user to remedy it.
This is a situation that shouldn’t be too surprising, since people who decide to join the Beta program know that they have the opportunity to preview all the new features planned for Meta’s famous instant messaging app, but of also having to deal with bugs of all kinds. This is the price to pay when you choose to undertake this path, however the fact that the same problem occurred in two different versions of the program is decidedly unusual.
The first to complain about the malfunction were the testers of version 2.24.24.5: according to testimonies spread on the main social networks, especially X, and on various forums such as Reddit, it seems that the block is triggered by the opening of a chat . Once the command has been sent, the system responds with a green screen, or rather, to be even more precise, the entire interface becomes green: from that moment on the app becomes totally unusable and it is impossible to send any kind of command.
At this point, generally, the user has a series of basic solutions at his disposal, such as restarting the device, cleaning the cache and reinstalling the program: all useless, given that the green screen is always there. At this point the solution would remain to downgrade to the previous Beta version, but some users have complained of the same problem, albeit with a lower incidence, also in 2.24.24.4.
Furthermore, this is generally not an easy operation, since the Betas are distributed as bundles and not as simple Apk files. However, in the absence of statements from the Meta development team, with the hope that the bug will be resolved as soon as possible, this is the only way forward.
