WhatsApp, the mega Hub arrives to find lost files: the important news

An important new option is preparing to make life easier for millions of users of WhatsApp: according to what was revealed in the preview by the experts at WaBetaInfoIn fact, Meta is implementing a function thanks to which it will be possible to recover documents whose details you do not remember.

It is, essentially, a sort of mega Media hub through which users will be able to browse the dozens of files received in chats and from there fish out photographs, GIFs, videos or links that they had lost track of but would have liked to save: an important update for managing content shared across multiple devices.

Activated through a new access point located in the sidebar, the hub allows you to manage all the material of the conversations without having to open them individually. For the moment the functionality has been made available to a limited number of testers on the web client and in the Mac app, with the aim of optimizing the resource before its wider diffusion.

By analyzing the interface of the new multimedia hub, it is possible to understand how the user will be able to draw from a single “container” to find any files of which he has lost track, but he will however be limited in this activity, since apparently he will only be able to browse the most recent contents. All this, evidently, with the intention of streamlining the search as much as possible, favoring the speed of access to information without excessively burdening the system by including obsolete files in the list.

The operation can be further optimized with the function integrated searchor by selecting a filter by sender, in case we remember who among our contacts may have sent the content we are interested in, or by caption, if a key word present for example in the name of the photo or video comes to mind.

WhatsApp Media Hub also allows users to organize files in chronological orderstarting from the most recent or oldest at the top: this obviously helps if you remember approximately when the affected file was shared

Another search option that helps is the one that allows you to sort files by size: in this case it is easier to find those that take up more space (for example, if they are videos) or less memory space (such as simple documents

or link). The functionality also helps if the user wants to free up space on the device, therefore starting from the largest files to make a choice on which to keep and which to permanently delete.
