There is no doubt that one of the apps that consumes the level of more drums of modern smartphones both WhatsApp: just check the activity statistics provided by the iOS and Android systems to see that it is almost always “in the lead” in good company with the most used social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok). In the near future, however, something positive could change regarding cell phone battery saving.
News on animations
As reported by the experts at WABetainfoIn fact, the Meta developers are working on managing images in automatic playback. What does it mean? Which in the near future, initially for Android, users will be able to “deactivate animations for emojis, stickers and avatars directly from the app settings”. But what would the direct benefits be? The issue relating to battery saving is not officially reported but it is implied because animations, as well as videos (obviously in smaller quantities) consume the devices’ battery.
The new options
By deactivating animated stickers such as emojis but also Gifs you would certainly have a longer battery life. “They will remain static until manually played by the user. In the future, users will be able to manage their animation preferences directly from the app settings, allowing them to decide whether Gifs, emojis and stickers should animate”, experts point out. It is more or less the same principle as “background apps”, i.e. the process that runs automatically without user intervention and which, obviously, consume a percentage of the cell phone battery.
The advice
Furthermore, in this way, users who do not like animations or consider them useless will be able to decide to make them static forever and leave active, for example, only the Gifs. “WhatsApp plans to introduce three separate options, allowing users to individually manage animations for emojis, stickers and avatars. This feature is likely being developed in response to feedback from users who may find excessive animated content overwhelming,” explains WABetainfo. Often, many users don’t like animations because they interrupt the flow of chat conversations.
The experts also had their say on the subject Video games.
com that they suggest to all users, if they have “difficulty maintaining the drums of the smartphone in shape throughout the day”to “avoid sending too many emojis and animated gifs and perhaps keep Whatsapp under control manually”.
