A new one bugs is making Windows users tremble. According to the news circulating among industry experts, in fact, this problem would be capable of causing the so-called Blue Screen of Deaththat no-return condition that indicates a critical system error that is impossible to resolve independently.
Microsoft raised the alarm by reporting the bug. The very serious problem was revealed following the most recent 24H2 update for Windows 11. There were many affected users who made it known that they had “lost” their devices in this way. The confirmation came from Microsoft itself, which explained that the new bug is causing several blue screens of death. To be precise, the error appeared on those devices in which the Voicemeeter app was installed. Furthermore, it would not be the first time that Microsoft users have reported very serious problems caused by the Windows update, even with regards to Western Digital SSDs.
Apparently the blue screen comes as a consequence of a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error, caused by a lack of compatibility between the memory manager and the driver Voicemeeter. This would be enough to make the dreaded one appear Blue Screen of Death.
In addition to reporting the situation, the US multinational also advised users to check the list of errors reported so far, before proceeding with the updates and risk compromising their devices. Not only that. To protect customers, Microsoft has decided to add a compatibility block with Voicemeeter: essentially, Windows Update will not propose the update to those devices considered compatible. This block must not be ignored and/or bypassed, because it was imposed for security reasons.
It should be noted that the devices at risk are those with Windows 11 24H2.
There are no problems for those with Windows 11 and Windows 10.
What to do in case of error? If you succeed, you can proceed uninstalling Voicemeeter. Further directives from Microsoft are awaited.
