A “good meeting”, is how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky defined his bilateral meeting with Donald Trump at the White House. The two leaders spoke for about an hour inside the Oval Office. The tycoon then welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a new bilateral meeting which ended in a “positive” manner.
The conflict in Ukraine
“Thank you for everything we do together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and promote peace,” Zelensky began in his summary post on social media, mindful of the reprimand he received at the first summit of 2025. “First of all, I offered President Trump our condolences for the passing of Lindsey Graham (Republican senator, ed.). He was a true friend of Ukraine,” continued the leader. Who then went into the details of the conversation: “The president and I discussed licenses for the production of Patriot interceptors and several other ideas that could help. We also talked about diplomacy, it is important that the diplomatic process is revitalized.”
The war with Iran
After the confrontation with Zelensky, Trump welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Oval Office. The two addressed several issues: the war with Iran, Tehran’s nuclear program and partnership opportunities in the Middle East. A few hours before the bilateral, the New York Post published an indiscretion according to which the Israeli prime minister should have shared intelligence information regarding Iran’s nuclear programs with the US president. The tycoon, however, declared: “I don’t need Bibi to tell me these things. Bibi tells me because she wants me to stay involved” in the conflict.
At the end of the meeting, the Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesperson summarized the outcome of the meeting as follows: “We are perfectly aligned on Iran. Israel supports whatever path Trump chooses.”
