American President Donald Trump raises the bar on Iran. The USS Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, has been ordered to sail from the Caribbean Sea to the Middle East. The New York Times revealed it.
Even in the last few hours, Trump has said he wants to continue negotiations with Iran, but at the same time the movement of the aircraft carrier appears to be a show of force that is difficult to ignore. Iran, the tycoon told the press, “must make an agreement” on its nuclear program, otherwise the consequences for them will be “very traumatic”. He then added that he hoped to reach an agreement with Tehran by next month.
Great maneuvers
The USS Gerald R. Ford is one of the most modern and advanced aircraft carriers in the United States Navy. Entered into service in 2017, it is approximately 333 meters long and is the largest and most powerful aircraft carrier ever built. It has a crew of over 4500 men. From a technological point of view it is much more advanced than previous classes, designed to ensure greater operational efficiency and advanced warfare capabilities.
Four different sources told the American newspaper that the ship’s crew were only informed of the decision in the last few hours. The Ford attack group (from which the fighters involved in the operation to capture the Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro left last January 3) will therefore join the Lincoln aircraft carrier which is already in the Gulf.
