It's an open game in Iran: plans for peace and those for the last major attack are on Trump's table

The declared objective is peace, but on Donald Trump’s table, alongside the drafts of an agreement, there would also be plans for an attack: the definitive one. This is what is happening in the US-Iran conflict.

The stalemate

According to the Wall Street Journal, the American president does not rule out possible attacks on Iran but has informed his collaborators that he wants to give more time to the diplomatic process after being updated on the status of the negotiations. Along the same lines as Axios. A US official briefed on the diplomatic efforts reportedly described the negotiations as “agonizing”, with the drafts “going back and forth every day” without much progress. A situation of maximum alert is also reported by CBS, according to which several military and intelligence officials have canceled their plans for the weekend in the possibility of attacks.

Meanwhile, all the mediators have converged in Tehran, starting with Pakistan, to try to finalize an initial agreement which will then pave the way for further negotiations and a definitive agreement. US Secretary of State Rubio spoke of “slight progress”, but invites us to imagine “a plan B if Iran does not reopen Hormuz”. The Islamic Republic is also slowing down: “We cannot necessarily say that an agreement is imminent.” However, the Iranian nuclear and missile programs would be excluded from the draft agreement and would be addressed at a later date. A halfway solution that makes the picture anything but rosy.
