The news coming on doesn’t stop Whatsapp, which has now become one of the most used platforms for instant messaging. After the introduction of channels, voice updates and the possibility of having followers participate in surveys, it will soon even be possible to exchange files with a simple “shake”, i.e. by shaking your smartphone.
The new sharing method
According to what was reported by the online portal hdblog.it, which follows the developments of the platform on a daily basis, beta version 2.24.2.20 for Android is arriving. In the package of updates and new functions in development, there would be a particularly interesting function that concerns the sharing.
This is a function that is not yet accessible even to beta testers, and concerns the possibility of quickly sharing files such as videos, images and documents by simply shaking the phone, with a “shake“. At the moment we still have to wait, but in the future this function will be guaranteed to everyone. In fact, it should arrive with the next general update.
For sharing to occur, precise conditions would be necessary. The first is that the people who decide to exchange the file are close between them (it is therefore not possible to use this function when the parts communicating with each other are very distant). The second condition to be respected is that both users have opened the section “People nearby” of WhatsApp on your mobile phone.
At that point, you will be able to exchange the file shaking the device. The function, among other things, allows you to avoid the risk of involuntary sharing. End-to-end encryption protection will also be active.
The benefits of sharing with a shake
But why choose this sharing method? As we have seen, the possibility of involuntary sharing is avoided. But not only. The passage of the file is protected by a end-to-end encryption system. The exchange of the document or image occurs quickly, almost instantaneously. All you need to do is shake your smartphone. Finally, the telephone contacts of users not present in the address book will remain hidden.
We will still have to wait a while to have this feature, as it is still in the development phase, however many believe that the novelty will be present in the next update.
