We men are more authentic in these things: we do not only remember prestigious lovers. Of course it becomes difficult to contradict when you are dead, so I do not exclude that poor Delon could be annoyed and have something to say when one of these alleged lovers confesses to the newspapers that she was in bed with Delon and that she made his head spin. Without a doubt, the French actor has had an intense relationship with the female gender, a bit like me. I want to clarify the meaning of my words: women in my life have played a fundamental, indeed crucial, role. I am not referring only to those, countless, with whom I have slept, something I am not ashamed of since it is not a crime, but also to the many friends I have had and continue to have by my side, with whom I converse pleasantly, I am able to open up and spend a lot of quality time. I have always preferred female company, with men I get bored, I find them repetitive, not very brilliant, focused on ephemeral and boring issues. With women I am able to have deeper conversations and also lighter conversations.
It is no coincidence that the only authorized autobiographical book on Delon, published in 2013, is entitled: Les femmes de ma vie. Maybe I should write a work of this type too. I would start by telling the story of my aunt Tina, my mother’s sister, the aunt who practically raised me since my mother worked like a madwoman, staying away from home a lot, having been widowed very young and having to provide alone for three small children, of whom I was the last born. I would obviously also tell the story of my mother, my first wife, my second, with whom I have still lived for over 55 years, my daughters, my soulmate, Oriana Fallaci, and an infinite series of ladies with whom I have had quite pleasant experiences. Who knows if one day far away, when I am no longer here, it will happen that some women will proudly proclaim themselves my lovers, reporting to the newspapers that they have fucked me? I’ll say it right away: I wouldn’t be offended or want to contradict you, it wouldn’t be elegant of me, just as it’s not considered elegant to compile and distribute a list of sexual partners. Women are always right, as any married man whose neurons are functioning has learned.
Delon declared that without his women he would have been nobody and that perhaps he would have become a delicatessen owner, limiting himself to slicing porchetta, just like his father.
Without my women, I would not have become who I am. They shaped me, supported me, encouraged me, stimulated me, made my existence happy, interesting, colorful and cheerful.
