A few hours after the debut of Android 15made available for download by Google since last Tuesday 15 October, the first compatibility problems are already starting to be reported: specifically, numerous users have complained about a malfunction of the Instagram app, which has become almost unusable.

The bugs of the OS has made it impossible both to load the Stories correctly and to move from one Story to another, but not only that: the Meta app tends to crash and close itself randomly and without any apparent reason. A problem which made many owners of devices already equipped with Android 15 turn up their noses, who clogged the forums and Reddit to share their experience and look for someone able to possibly provide an alternative solution.

The element that seems to unite the cases of malfunction is the version of Instagram affected by the bug, i.e. the 352.1.0.41.100but only and exclusively for all those who have uploaded the Google operating system. A situation that has also alarmed the Meta developers, who are working with the aim of making a new update available to everyone soon. But is there really no way to temporarily fix the problem?

Luckily for the many users who have reported the malfunction, there is one solutionhowever not recommended and not within everyone’s reach. In fact, it is possible to download the updated version of Instagram, 353.1.0.47.90, but not through the Google Play Store as usual, given that it is not yet available to everyone. The only way to proceed is to carry out the sideload of the updated app, a procedure not recommended by Google as it is potentially risky given that we are talking about a download from an app store other than the authorized ones.

Some users who work on Instagram have decided to run the riskfollowing the only path currently available to overcome the problem.

In case you don’t want to sideload, or don’t have the minimum skills to do so, you need to wait for the Instagram update to be made available for all Android users, since accessing the social network and using it correctly it’s impossible. Given the seriousness of the problem, with Instagram being one of the most widespread and appreciated apps, both Google and Meta are already working to shorten the release time.
