A few days after the release of iOS 18the eighteenth version of Apple’s operating system, here comes the possible debut date of Android 15, Google’s proposal. On the web, industry experts are already trying their hand at testing and comparing the two operating systems.
The release date
According to the latest news circulating, Google’s new operating system should be ready to be downloaded and used starting next month. The great wait, therefore, is about to end. According to what was reported by AndroidHeadlinesGoogle reportedly sent Android 15 to theAndroid Open Source Project – repository where you can find the information and source code needed to create the Android operating system – already last September 3rd, however there is no talk of a release and update for Pixel devices until at least October. It therefore seems that the release has been set for October 15, 2024. The same expert Mishaal Rahman had hypothesized a similar date.
The update for Pixel
As per tradition, therefore, the update will fall on Monday. The first devices that will be able to benefit from the new version will be those of the series Google Pixelspecifically from the Pixel6 to the Pixel9, up to the Pixel9Pro Fold. All the other devices will follow, belonging to different brands, such as Xiaomi, Samsung, Honor, Lenovo, Motorola and OnePlus. We will just have to wait a few more weeks or months.
What’s new
Among the features that will be present in the new version, Google promises the Notification Sync between multiple devices, which is very useful for users who own multiple devices, but also better battery charging management for Pixel smartphones. As announced in recent months, there will be no major changes compared to Android 14, but improvements.
Another novelty is that of the new switchpresent in Settings, useful for enabling and disabling keyboard vibration. Also added haptic feedback for the slider that will improve the screen brightness.
At the moment the reviews of the beta tester who have already had the opportunity to try the operating system have been positive, and a considerable response has been reported
performance improvement. This time, therefore, everything suggests that Google wanted to launch an update that, rather than focusing on new features, aims to consolidate the functions already offered by Android.
