Infinix Note 60 Ultra review: super smartphone designed by Pininfarina

The subject of our test today is the new Note 60 Ultra from Infinix, a brand of the Chinese Transsion group, little known in our country, but famous internationally for its devices (mobile phones, tablets, TVs and laptops) with an excellent quality/price ratio and mainly intended for emerging markets.

Note 60 Ultra is a high-end smartphone that stands out for its design created by Pininfarina and inspired by the world of Italian sports cars. Smartphone that also boasts complete and advanced technologies such as satellite connectivity, powerful Samsung cameras, sensors for monitoring our health, double display, large battery and more. Let’s not forget the complete software and the truly unique packaging.

Italian design

The Note 60 Ultra is already striking at first glance thanks to the design developed in collaboration with Pininfarina. This is the first important partnership with a smartphone brand, created on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the famous Italian company.

Lines inspired by Italian supercars, with 4 colors that pay homage to our country: Torino Black, Monza Red, Amalfi Blue and Roma Silver.

The subject of our test is the eye-catching Monza Red version: a bright red that recalls the colors of the Prancing Horse cars designed by Pininfarina. Let’s start our analysis from the back, available with a carbon fiber finish (Torino Black version) or fingerprint-resistant matt glass. The Monza Red variant also stands out for its rear embellished with thin vertical lines with an iridescent effect.

Unlike traditional smartphones which house separate photographic sensors on the rear, the Note 60 Ultra boasts the first Uni-Chassis module in the sector: inside a single large black element, in resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass, we find all the cameras, the flash and a small dot matrix display hidden which we will analyze later. The Uni-Chassis recalls the rear window of Pininfarina concepts, covers the entire upper width of the smartphone and has a thin knurled profile slightly protruding from the body. Uni-Chassis also houses the Pininfarina logo which we find engraved on the sides of the smartphone.

Module embellished with a particular red LED: a luminous signature that crosses the back of the device and inspired by the rear lights of sports cars. LED customizable by the user with various functions that we will analyze later.

Let’s not forget the high-strength aluminum unibody chassis also designed for optimal heat dissipation.

We continue with the aluminum side profile which houses a button that can be customized by the user on the left, while on the right we find the volume rocker, the power button and the sensor for monitoring various body parameters which we will analyze later. At the top there is the first speaker and the IR sensor which allows you to use the smartphone as a remote control for TVs, air conditioners and other products. The USB-C port is obviously positioned at the bottom together with the trolley for the two nano SIMs and the second speaker.

Let’s not forget the resistance to liquids and dust, with IP64 certification.

Packaging

Infinix Note 60 Ultra boasts a truly special package: a very large and elegant box reminiscent of the packaging of luxury products. Black and red box, made of high quality cardboard, with leather handle and metal closures.

Top case divided into three sections: the central area dedicated to the smartphone and the sides to the accessories. Let’s start with the wireless smartphone charging pad made of zinc alloy and plastic and with a central Kevlar finish. Pad with elegant and refined lines, designed by Pininfarina and inspired by the lines of sports cars. For those who want a less bulky accessory, the circular central area, which houses the wireless charging system, can be removed and used separately from the generous base.

In the package we also find the 100W charger, the USB-C cable, wired earphones, a protective film for the display (unfortunately not pre-applied), an original pin for extracting the SIM tray with a shape derived from the lines of sports cars and, finally, a hard cover with Kevlar rear finish and MagSafe compatibility.

Second display and rear LED

One of the distinctive features of the Note 60 Ultra is the Active Matrix Display inserted into the rear Uni-Chassis module. Small white dot matrix screen, invisible when not active, fully customizable by the user (switch on and backlight intensity) and with numerous features including calls, notifications, countdown, music playback, weather, battery, NFC activation, personalized designs, fun animations with various animals and two mini games. Depending on the set functions, the display turns on automatically or can be turned on by turning the phone upside down or shaking it slightly.

It is also possible to keep the screen always active, but only for some animations, and deactivate it when the main display is facing the user.

At the base of the rear Uni-Chassis we also find a large red LED strip with various lighting effects and various functions: notifications, Folax AI assistant activation and smartphone start-up.

Too bad the integrated software for managing the LEDs and second screen is not very clear.

Software analysis

The Note 60 Ultra uses the XOs 16 user interface based on Android 16, with February 2026 security patch. Operating system enriched by Infinix with numerous useful features. Let’s start with the various options to customize the user interface with a pre-installed theme that reflects the design of the smartphone.

There are also numerous features managed by AI starting from the integrated Folax assistant based on Grok. We continue with the recognition of elements on the screen, summary and translation of calls and video calls, translation and writing of texts, conversion of sketches into images, summary and transcription of audio recordings, generation of themes, backgrounds and subtitles, video improvement and more. AI can also be used only within the smartphone, without an online connection, for maximum privacy.

We continue with the advanced Game mode and the complete sections for battery and audio management. Let’s not forget the “My Health” app for monitoring heart rate, stress and blood oxygen level detected by the smartphone. Application that integrates a section dedicated to training and can also be used with a smartwatch.

We conclude with the camera management interface which includes various modes such as Portraits also with AI, Street, Night, Slow Motion, Time lapse, Panorama, Document Scan, Macro, Long Exposure, Wide Selfie, Pro and more. There is also a complete editor called “AI Studio” for editing photos and videos with the help of artificial intelligence.

User experience and price

We end the review of the Note 60 Ultra with our user experience. From Infinix comes a complete high-end smartphone, with an unmistakable design. A model with excellent build quality and very good overall performance, with a fast and responsive interface and high performance even in games.

Very positive opinion on the display: bright, fast and with natural colours. Let’s move on to the battery which allows more than one day of very intense use and almost three with more careful use of the smartphone. Excellent connectivity and charging speed: 50% in 18 minutes and 100% in 48 minutes. The rear display is useful.

Let’s move on to the operating system, well optimized, enriched with numerous useful features and completely customizable by the user.

Main camera

Let’s continue with the photographic sector. The rating on the main sensor is very good, with shots with natural colors and high detail. Similar opinion on the powerful and advanced zoom, with photos improved by AI and reduced noise. Night shots, portrait mode, selfies and videos do not disappoint, up to 4K-60 fps and with good stabilization. Too bad for the wide angle of only 8 MP, of decent quality.

Below are 4 photos taken with the main camera, the wide angle, the telephoto and the maximum zoom available.

Maximum zoom (100x)

Good ergonomics, with a slightly high weight. The telephone-audio sector does not disappoint, with powerful, quality stereo speakers. The packaging is excellent, truly complete and original.

Finally the price of Note 60 Ultra equal to approximately 640 euros (512 GB version). At the moment it is not yet available for purchase in our country.
