"It's crazy to ask for other incentives." Confindustria also slams Stellantis

On the sidelines of the Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs conference in Capri, the president Emanuele Orsini he didn’t use too many minces to define the requests made yesterday by Tavares: “We need production in Italy to be maintained and asking for further incentives honestly seems crazy to me.” Firm, clear, peremptory, words that leave little room for interpretation. But above all, an unprecedented attack by Confindustria against one of the most important companies in the country, demonstrating the tension.

“I believe that this automotive crisis is unfortunately one of the repercussions of the choices of the previous European Commission on the Green deal. I would not like the stop to the internal combustion engine in 2035 and the latest announcements of the review to 2026 to give rise to someone not to produce in Italy”, explained Orsini during his speech, underlining the madness inherent in the request for new aid which according to Tavares would be used by Italians to purchase cars on tap: “We we need serious industrial plansof companies located in the area that build their products in our country”.

The reactions of parliamentarians and unions pushed Tavares to understand the unity of the country system, which asks Stellantis to stay in Italy and face the challenge of the transition here, the minister remarked Adolfo Urso. The owner of Business and Made in Italy underlined that “the important thing is that everyone does their part and the factories return to a more suitable level of production, otherwise costs are higher”. Another important message, considering the numbers that fail Tavares, just think that the employees have decreased by over 11 thousand units and the historic minimum of production has been reached.
