Inaugurated at the Palazzo della Cancelleria, in the heart of Rome the exhibition “Jordan: dawn of Christianity” / “Jordan: Dawn of Christianity”, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan in
collaboration with the Vatican, exhibition that can be visited until February 28, 2025. This exceptional event celebrates 30 years of diplomatic relations between Jordan and the Holy See, and coincides with the jubilee year of the themed Vatican “Pilgrimage of hope”, as well as the 60th anniversary of the visit of Pope Paul VI in Jordan in 1964 , as the apostolic nuncio in Jordan, the archbishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, spoke at the press conference to present the exhibition on 8 January ad

For a whole month, in Rome visitors will be able to undertake an immersive journey through 90 extraordinary finds that narrate the history of Christianity from its dawn to the present day. These treasures, carefully selected by about 34 archaeological sites in
Jordan are exhibited abroad for the first time and represent a profound bond with the roots of Christianity in this land.
In the heart of the Holy Land, where the echoes of the prophets and saints still resonate, there is Jordan, a timeless sanctuary that witnessed the birth of the first chapters of Christianity. The exhibition represents an entrance door to the sacred past of Jordan, and includes five pilgrimage sites recognized by 
Vatican: Tel Mar Elias, the birthplace of the prophet Elia. Our lady of the mountain, sanctuary that commemorates the Virgin Mary. Monte Nebo, the last rest place of the prophet Moses. Macheronte, where Giovanni Battista’s martyrdom is told. The website of the baptism of Jesus Christ (Maghtas) on the Jordan River, the waters in which John the Baptist baptized Jesus, marking the beginning of the
Christianity.
His Majesty the King Abdullah II continues to promote the return to the essence and fundamental values shared by all the faiths, underlining that: “Our country is the home of a historic Christian community. All our citizens actively participate in the construction of our strong nation. In fact, Christians have been part of the Middle East companies for thousands of years and are vital for the future of our region. ” This exhibition reflects this lasting 
Lega, highlighting the crucial role of Jordan in the history of Christianity. From these lands, Elia ascene to heaven, John the Baptist made his final sacrifice and Jesus Christ started the Word of God.
The over 80 ancient objects on display trace the evolution of Christianity: From the baptism of Jesus Christ to the Byzantine era, through the rise of the Islamic eras, up to the current he was Hashemita.
