With the next iOS 17.4 update in March, they will arrive on Apple devices and then on all the others too 118 new emojiapproved last September byUnicode Consortium, the association that includes the most important software developers and hardware manufacturers. Among all these there will be 108 revisitations of existing ones with the inclusion of new skin colors and ethnicities.
Among the real innovations are some commonly used objects or concepts that have not been included until now. Certainly the most important will be those that concern the “new families” gender neutral.
What the new Emojis will be like
The images of these new graphic representations which will join the hundreds already existing, were previewed by Emojipedia the site that, like Wikipedia, explains and anticipates all the news. The most interesting ones, in addition to those of the various types of families that we have mentioned and which deserve a separate discussion, are one lime wedgeone phoenixa brown mushroomone broken metal chaina smiley that shakes its head from right to left and another who does it fromtop to bottom. The graphics, it should be remembered, will vary slightly with respect to the various operating systems.
The 108 new versions of existing emoji have expanded the already large range with movements in different directions and many more skin tones. The basic one on which these changes have been applied are: the person walking, the person running, the person kneeling, the person with a white cane, the person in a manual wheelchair and the person in a motorized wheelchair. Both left and right turns will be available.
The new families
The concept of a family made up of a man, a woman and children also changes with regards to emoji. There are four new representations, all “gender neutral” with different compositions:

Two parents and a child
A parent and a child
Alongside these four new features, the new update will also modify the emojis depicting the already existing family types: these will no longer be made up of colored figures, but of combinations of white silhouettes on a gray square icon.
