Rowenta X-Clean 10, the self-cleaning floor cleaner at a fair price

If you are looking for a last minute gift for those who have little time to dedicate to cleaning the house, Rowenta X-Clean 10 it is definitely a product to take into consideration. It is a powerful and lightweight floor cleaner capable of vacuuming dust, dirt and liquids and at the same time washing with a single pass and promises an autonomy of 60 minutes and 350 m2 on a single charge. But, above all, it cleans itself after each use.

The design

The microfibre roller

What strikes you from the first glance about this floor cleaner is certainly its light and elegant design. But what may appear to be a classic vacuum cleaner hides two tanks at the base, one for clean water (on the base) and one for dirty water (bottom on the handle). The grip is comfortable and the low center of gravity makes it very easy to handle.

The test

Operation is simple and intuitive: we insert water into the tank, a drop of detergent and it’s done. At this point just choose the cleaning program and lower the handle: the roller will start to spin at 550 revolutions per minute, but above all the floor cleaner will start to advance on its own with self-propulsion which makes it very light to use. The microfibre roller – suitable for all surfaces, even the most delicate – has a design that reaches up to the edges of the brush and allows effective cleaning even along skirting boards and around furniture legs, reducing the need to go over with other tools. Furthermore, the handle folds down to the ground and allows you to reach even the most difficult points with extreme ease. To turn it off, just place it completely vertically.

Three washing modes: AI (which thanks to artificial intelligence sets the power automatically), turbo, silent (less powerful, which guarantees up to 60 minutes of suction). Alternatively, it is possible to set the suction only which does not wet the roller and which is ideal if you need to collect liquids before cleaning. A sort of comb placed behind the roller separates the liquid from the solid and divides it inside the dirt tank.

During our test, the floor cleaner impressed us with the quality of its cleaning: it had no problems even with difficult and encrusted dirt, nor with mixed residues after a meal which, with a two-year-old girl still dropping food and water from the high chair, it’s certainly not just a few crumbs. One pass was enough to collect everything and leave the floor clean.

Self-cleaning and maintenance

But what makes the X-Clean 10 really interesting is maintenance. Starting from self-cleaning: once placed back on the base and the cleaning button is pressed, the roller starts to spin, the water washes it (also in this case the sensors automatically recognize the degree of dirt) and then a jet of air hot at 65° dries it so it doesn’t stink. Emptying is also very easy: a lever that lifts the residue tank allows you to throw everything away and wash it under running water without getting your hands dirty.

What we liked

Rowenta X-Clean 10

The X-clean 10 is light (weighs just 800 grams), can be passed with one hand and is very

silent. It costs 679.99 euros on the Rowenta website (but there are promotions in other stores), a fair price for such an efficient product. Furthermore, the company guarantees 15 years of repairability at a fair price.
