Competence and innovation are not enough. In an increasingly competitive world of work and at the mercy of continuous crisis and uncertain markets, it serves much more. Forestry strategy, concrete projects and investments, many investments, on the one hand and on the other, by companies and businesses, that is, that in the world of work are already inside and are looking for new levers to carry out business at the forefront, and by young students who in the world of work overlook the first time in search of opportunities and growth, are needed. One and the others, both in difficulty: if for companies and companies finding adequate candidates it is becoming a sort of gold hunting, for young people to access study process and level training often means undertaking an expensive obstacle course. To notice the double gap and point of view and move to fill it, the Dompé Foundation, which looks to young people and aims to be two ambitious objectives oriented to them. The first: to break down the socio -economic barriers to access to university education; The second: to promote the development of the professions of the future in the context of the STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in order to contribute to scientific progress.

Born in 2020 on the initiative of Sergio Dompé – at the head of the homonymous biofarmaceutical company, which in 2024 recorded a turnover of over one billion euros, growing compared to 2023, increased investments in research by 33%, reaching 140 million euros per year, and L’Aquila is the promoter of “Talent industry”, a project created to form new technical talents in the sector in the sector in the sector in the sector Pharmaceutical, supporting the integration between school, university and industry in Abruzzo – the Foundation is aimed at talented students, of all nationalities, engaged in the most advanced paths of knowledge. Thanks to the collaboration with a network of university of excellence in Italy and abroad, it provides scholarships and research grants to support the most deserving members of master’s degree, doctoral and post -doctorate paths. In these five years of activity, he has assigned over 130 scholarships, which in the current academic year will rise to 184, bringing the overall allocation to 11 million euros, already destined to grow in 2026. The talents supported by the Foundation come from university of Yale, Harvard and Stanford in the United States, of the University of Bologna, Padua and Pavia in Italy. Precisely in the historian University of Pavia, in addition to having been just dedicated to Franco Dompé a classroom at the Department of Sciences of the drug, the new program of scholarships has been announced, which sees the introduction of three bags (with a total value of 225 thousand euros) intended for a PhD path in chemical and pharmaceutical sciences and industrial innovation for the academic year 2026/2027. But calls and scholarships are not the only Dompé focus.

To the Foundation project is also added that of graduation prizes of the Leonardo Committee, which, supported by the company, aims to promote Italian excellence in the world and has already favored the entry of over 160 recent graduates into important Italian companies. An initiative, this, which goes far beyond training: it is a bet on the quality, creativity and value of Made in Italy in the global panorama.
