The Fish of the Upper Adriatic celebrates in Lignano Sabbiadoro

From 4 to 7 September 2025 Lignano Sabbiadoro will host the ninth edition of Easy Fish, the Fish Festival of the Upper Adriatic. The event will develop between Lungomare Trieste, Beach Village and the beach office 7, with a program that combines cuisine, wine and local products. The novelty of this year is the division of evenings into three distinct themes: sea, hinterland and mountains. A path that intends to give a wider representation of Friulian gastronomy, entrusted to local cooks and guests from Northeast.

The artistic director will once again be Fabrizio Nonis, a journalist and television face that has accompanied the review since 2015. He will lead the showcooking that represent the heart of the event. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 4 September, with the presence of the authorities. Immediately after the first appointment with the kitchen: an eight -hand showcooking dedicated to the sea, with the chefs Alessandro Businaro (from Boschet, Latisana), Egi and Mali Capele (Mandi Osteria Friuliana, Lignano Sabbiadoro), Mattia and Michele Vacca (Ricky Hostaria, Lignano Sabbiadoro) and Salvatore Sapienza (Mediterranean Garden, Lignano Sabbiadoro). The evening will end with the intervention of chef Daniele Persegani.

Friday 5 September will be the turn of the hinterland. Andrea Fantini (the Gourmet Fucine, Buttrio), Stefano Sacilotto (substantive, Pordenone), Marco Talamini (La Torre, Spilimbergo) and Edoardo Zanelli (Riva Zanelli, Lignano Sabbiadoro) will go on stage. In closing, the showcooking with Andrea Mainardi and Giusi Battaglia, known to the television public like Giusina in the kitchen.

On the third day, Saturday 6 September, it will be up to the mountain. The protagonists will be Giacomo Della Pietra (Osteria da Alvise, Sutrio), Umberto Salvo (from Ivana and Secondo, Manazzons), Marco Menegon (Edelweiss, Piancavallo) and Stefano Buttazzoni (the Golden Bunch, Colle). To close the culinary part will be chef Francesca Marsetti, flanked by Giusi Battaglia. In the evening there is also a jazz concert by Gegè Telesforo, which will present the songs of the Big Mama Lagacy album.

Sunday 7 September, the final day, the regional wine shop and the Street Food area will remain active, with fish proposals and traditional Friulian dishes. The wine shop will be managed by the Italian Sommelier Association of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, confirming attention to wine as an integral part of regional identity. In fact, the event recalls the project of the Wine and Flavors of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a path that unites farms, cellars and restaurants from the coast to the Karst.

Alongside the showcooking and tastings there will also be the gourmet area, a space where it will be possible to taste the dishes offered by the same chefs engaged on stage. The Street Food area instead will animate Lungomare Trieste with more informal preparations, always linked to the local tradition and the fish of the Upper Adriatic.

Easy Fish, born as an event dedicated to fish and sea cuisine, has expanded its range of action over the years to include hinterland and mountains.

The 2025 edition confirms this setting, transforming Lignano for four days into a regional gastronomic showcase, which ranges from author’s kitchens to kiosks on the sea, from wine tastings to musical contaminations.
