Today the US President threatened to cut government subsidies to Musk companies, accusing him of depending on public money. “Without public money,” Trump wrote on Truth, “he should probably close and return to South Africa”. The “Big Beautiful Bill” is the bill promoted by Trump which aims to renew the tax cuts of 2017, increase defense expenses and limit public assistance programs such as Medicaid. According to economic analysis, the project could increase the public debt by over 3,300 billion dollars in the next ten years. Musk has openly attacked this proposal, claiming that it promotes obsolete industries at the expense of future technologies, such as those of its companies.
