A new chapter of the Faida between Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Today the US President threatened to cut government subsidies to Musk companies, accusing him of depending on public money. “Without public money,” Trump wrote on Truth, “he should probably close and return to South Africa”. Suggesting, in a provocative tone, of wanting even evaluate the hypothesis of its expulsion: “I’ll take a look at us.” The Tycoon added that, stopping projects such as space launches, the production of satellites and the electric cars of Musk’s companies, the government could save huge sums of money.
Musk’s provocative response
Elon MuskCEO of Tesla and Spacex, was not long in coming. On X, he relaunched with a dry: “I’m literally saying: cut everything. Now.” Musk did not hesitate to define Trump’s bill, known as “Big Beautiful Bill”, as “crowds” and harmful to millions of American jobs. The CEO also criticized the Republican parliamentarians for having betrayed their promises of austerity, declaring that “every member of the congress that voted for this law should be ashamed”.
The “Big Beautiful Bill” is the bill promoted by Trump which aims to renew the tax cuts of 2017, increase defense expenses and limit public assistance programs such as Medicaid. According to economic analysis, the project could increase the public debt by over 3,300 billion dollars in the next ten years. Musk has openly attacked this proposal, claiming that it promotes obsolete industries at the expense of future technologies, such as those of its companies.
