“You can drop the government, you cannot erase reality”: shouts and applause have welcomed the words of the French Prime Minister, François Bayrou, in front of Parliament for the session on trust in the government. Bayrou concluded his speech after 45 minutes, then the word went to the statements of the parliamentary groups. “You have the power to overthrow the government” but not to “cancel reality”, said the French premier in reference to the disastrous situation of the French public accounts, during his speech at the Nationale Assemblée in Paris, on which – except for surprises – will be disheartened by the oppositions. During his intervention of about 40 minutes, Bayrou warned about the “vital urgency” for France to restore public finances, warning that “the divisions risk having the better” on the upper interest of the nation.
