More news coming soon WhatsApp. The instant messaging platform is preparing to deploy a new group of AI chatbots with which users will be able to converse. As it was possible to see in the beta version for Android (2.25.1.24)the Community tab has in fact been replaced with a tab dedicated to chatbots.

The news comes from WABetaInfowho noted how the new section is entirely dedicated toartificial intelligence. Users will thus be able to interact with characters recreated thanks to AI but popular in the community. Think, for example, of the protagonists of anime, comics or books, but also many other types. The bots will be divided by topic. Not only that. WhatsApp is also trying to introduce the ability to create gods AI characters completely customizable, which, for example, already happens on Instagram.

We are talking about a real novelty for the messaging platform. At the moment the application has given the possibility of using AI to create stickers, as well as offering an enhanced search tool, but it has not gone beyond this. So is there a turning point in sight?

From what we know, the new AI functions will only be available for now United Statesexcept for a few other countries. The audience will certainly be expanded later. WhatsApp’s aim is to increase the use of AI by users, making it attractive.

As for the Community tabthis will not be completely eliminated. In fact, it seems that it will be rather simplified within the Chat tab. So no cancellations, just changes. All to promote artificial intelligence.

For those who want to test the new feature, AI chatbots are available in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, which you can get by going to Google Play. Beta tester spots, however, are quite limited, so it’s not a given that anyone will get lucky.

In any case, this is a function yet to be tested.
