Even electronic devices equipped with the Android operating system will soon be able to benefit from the possibility of adjusting the playback speed of videos and films directly to their liking. WhatsApp.

This is an innovation that was introduced for the first time ever just under two months ago, therefore in October, but which only owners of Apple-branded smartphones could benefit from. A feature that many have been requesting from the Meta developers for some time and which allows you to adapt the visual experience of multimedia files to your needs in a simple and intuitive way by manually intervening on the parameter of the speed.

WaBetaInfo experts managed to identify the novelty within the most recent update of the Beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.26.20, available for download on the Google Play Store. By playing a video via the Meta instant messaging app, it is clear for the user to be able to intervene on the playback speed of a video.

The control is visible at the bottom and to the right of the progress bar, so it is possible to operate on it at any time to modify the preset parameter without therefore being forced to pause and interrupt the viewing of the multimedia file. You can make your choice between three different levels of speed, starting from the normal one up to 1.5X and 2.0X.

For example, if you want to watch a tutorial or a particularly long presentation which you don’t need to dwell on the details to understand, it may happen that you want to speed up the playback a little, being content to grasp only the salient aspects and perhaps slowing down again at the moment which instead needs to pay greater attention to certain details.

Well, with this new option you will be able, to your liking, to manage all this with a simple click and without having to interrupt playback.

The functionality is currently only available to beta testers, but, considering the fact that it has already been extensively tested on iOS, it should be available to everyone in a rather short time.
