Hands off car tax. Four out of ten Italians are against the exemption. This is stated in a survey carried out by Swg for TgLa7 which focuses precisely on the measure that suspends the payment of the motorist tax for cars with less than 81kW, but only for next year.
Car tax: what Italians think about it
Public opinion is divided: 48% consider the measure “right”, 41% consider it “wrong”, while 11% do not express their opinion. Among those interviewed who gave a favorable opinion, 13% think that the suspension of the stamp duty will serve to directly support purchasing power, while for 35% it is a positive signal towards a larger tax cut. As for those against it, 4% of the audience believe that it puts the state’s finances at risk and 37% think that it is just electoral propaganda.
As expected, the opinion of the interviewees changes depending on their political affiliation. Only 7% of centre-right voters believe the measure is wrong, while 57% of opposition voters judge it negatively. However, it should be noted that 38% of those outside the majority say they are in favour.
Voting intentions: the M5s continues to rise, Vannacci at 8%
There are no major upheavals regarding voting intentions. Fratelli d’Italia remains the first party with 27.1% (+0.1), the Pd follows at 20.8 (-0.1) and the M5s confirms itself as the third force, albeit slightly on the rise (12.8%). Futuro Nazionale is estimated at 8%, up 0.1%, while the League continues to retreat and stops at 5.3%.
