"Le Pen bitch whore, guns out". Here is the anthem of "democratic" artists

“I fuck Bardella’s mother / Marine and Marion whores, let’s beat up those street bitches / Jordan you’re dead / If the fascists pass, we’ll take out our guns”. This is not some post published on social networks by the usual democrats, ready to fight against racism and homophobia and then vomit insults of all kinds towards their political opponents. This is the text of “They won’t pass”almost ten minutes of rap bars against the National Rallyguilty of having won the first round of the legislative elections in France. A collective of artists – twenty-one to be precise – led by DJ Kore went wild against Marine Le Pen and his candidate Jordan Bardellachoosing as its title the slogan of the anti-fascist republicans during the Spanish Civil War.

Established and young rappers, well-known faces and others less so: from Pit Baccardi to Seth Gueko, the anti-right group has unleashed itself to push the race to the left in view of the second round, but at least they avoid speculating on it: the proceeds of the project, the authors explain, will be donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation. The text is harsh, direct, full of insults and intimidations: from MMA to misogynistic and conspiratorial commentswith the involvement of Freemasonry and Israel. But there is another aspect that must be underlined and that certifies the clear instrumental nature of the anti-Le Pen/Bardella initiative: many of the artists recruited know nothing about politics, some have not even voted.

“Taking part in this piece was very important for me, because I grew up in the legacy of a sharp and committed French rap, which inspired me a lot. I belong to the generation where rap does not dissociate itself from the message,” said the video’s producer Fianso, already known for some songs against Le Pen and the Front National, now Rassemblement. A toxic attitude, which risks poison an already scorching climate due to the statements of some politicians who are anything but passionate about democracy and respect for their opponents.

This song is just the latest in a long series of initiatives aimed at throw mud on the rightguilty of getting more votes than others. Let’s think of the scenes of violence in the streets, the violent attacks against the representatives of the RN, the descent onto the field of footballers and artists to wink at Macron or even Melenchon, who until a few months ago was known for his anti-Semitic outbursts. No surprises even from his comrades: as always happens on occasions like these, from left no condemnation for the shameful lyrics of the rap song. A guilty silence, which somehow gives value to certain barbaric arguments.
