Yesterday's video message signed Vladimir Putin it was an initial warning: Moscow recognizes the jihadist origin of the attack on the Crocus city hall but intends to continue by considering Ukraine as the “instigator” of the massacre. Since the initial investigations conducted, the Russian authorities immediately directed suspicion towards Kiev, accusing it of having been directly involved in organizing the attack, together with the support of the United States and of Great Britain.

The head of theFsb Russian, Alexander Bortnikov, provided detailed allegations, saying the attackers were trained by Ukrainian intelligence in the Middle East. According to Bortnikov, such individuals would be welcomed in Ukraine as heroes, causing great concern among the international media and heightening tensions between Moscow and Kiev. “We believe that the action was prepared both by the Islamic radicals themselves and, of course, by Western intelligence services, and the Ukrainian intelligence services themselves are directly connected to this,” the FSB chief emphasized. ”

In response to these serious episodes, Bortnikov announced that Russia will adopt retaliatory measures. He also declared the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kirylo Budanov, as a legitimate target, raising the possibility of an escalation in the conflict.

Ukraine, of course, denies any wrongdoing. Mykhailo Podolyaka Ukrainian presidential advisor, sharply criticized the Russian accusations, calling them evidence of “collective inadequacy” on the part of the Russian leadership and underlining the existence of “irrefutable facts” that cast doubt on such claims.

Another element of tension is represented by the news that, after the attack, some terrorists tried to take refuge in Belarus. The Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko revealed that, following a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, it was decided to close part of the border to prevent their escape.

Meanwhile, arrests continue, following the arrest of 11 people, including the four alleged perpetrators of the massacre. Today the authorities arrested Alisher Kasimovsuspected of having hosted the attackers, although Kasimov denied any knowledge regarding the real identities of these people.
