An incredible scene, documented with several videos on social networks. “Shame,” the man shouted towards the officers: “I wrote that Hamas is a terrorist organization but they arrested me.” The 38-year-old man was released shortly after. The police explained that they stopped him for security reasons: the pro-Gaza people could have attacked him. It’s pointless to even comment on such a big outburst. Returning to Ghorbani, the Iranian explained to the Telegraph that he was attacked by pro-Palestinian demonstrators while he was holding his sign against Hamas. “They attacked me from behind and hit me on the head. They pushed me and told me that Hamas is a protector of Palestine,” said the man, an IT professional: “The police destroyed my sign and told me that I had harassed someone during the protest and that’s why I they arrested. They arrested me because someone who supports Hamas attacked me and I defended myself. After ten minutes my friends showed them a video of what I was doing and they released me. The person who attacked me was not arrested”.
But it is not the first episode for the anti-Hamas protester. In fact, Ghorbani said he had been hit with bottles, sticks and other objects during demonstrations in recent weeks.
