Higgins, named the SBC Defensive Player of the Week, blocked 11 shots and posted a 0.46 goals-against average in both wins against Abilene Christian and South Alabama.
Mayfield earned SBC Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording a pair of three-point outings to start the season. In the match against ACU, she scored a goal and added an assist which resulted in Louisiana's 2-0 victory over Abilene to open the season.
Stephen F. Austin claimed a 1-0 victory against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team by overcoming a huge 15-4 disadvantage in shot. Both teams battled to a scoreless tie through the first half as the teams combined for five shots.
In the final five minutes in a match against Texas State, the Bobcats scored a close 3-2 win in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams.
